- In 2023, we received funding for 199 projects totalling €19, 997, 421.
- In 2023, we registered 2,108 open access publications and 815 closed access publications.
- In 2023, we filed 19 spin-offs and 39 patents.
- UniTS is also particularly active in scientific dissemination. In 2023, we organised 86 events, thanks to numerous agreements and conventions signed with local associations and bodies.
UniTS participates in various exchange programmes for both students and staff with other universities in Europe and collaborates with several universities in Eastern Europe and non-European countries.
The International Mobility Office maintains and develops a network of 429 Erasmus agreements with 25 member countries, 4 associated countries and 10 non-associated third countries.
The Development Cooperation and University Networks Office maintains and develops the University’s international agreements. These agreements are not only capacity-building but also seek to develop joint educational initiatives, joint research and the international mobility of students, teachers and technical and administrative staff. The network of 33 existing agreements involves 25 countries, mainly non-EU.
The Research Services coordinate our participation in (and occasionally leading of) numerous research projects funded by regional, national and international programmes. As part of these projects, UniTS collaborates with a number of universities and research organisations mainly based in EU Member States or associated countries, but also with various institutions based in Eastern Europe and non-EU countries. As part of regional research projects, more than 400 collaborations have been initiated with research organisations and local and regional authorities (210) as well as with private companies (225).
The Development Cooperation and University Networks Office is in charge of: calls for Visiting Professors from foreign institutions or research bodies; UniTS funding of incoming and outgoing mobility of teachers and researchers; UniTS co-financing of international cooperation projects organised by its departments; welcoming scholars at risk, whose scientific activity is seriously compromised; the UNICORE Call – UNHCR Humanitarian Corridors and the Educating for Peace and Thesis Projects, also in collaboration with local authorities; the activities related to the CONFAP Programme for the reception of Brazilian PhD students within UNITS doctoral degree courses.
The Office for Student Support and Services is in charge of awarding prizes and scholarships to selected students. Funds come from UniTs as well as from public institutions, companies and private benefactors (‘Best Freshman Award’, ‘High Level Athletes’ Award, PhD Innovation Awards).
The Research Services coordinate the MICROGRANTS initiative, aimed at supporting basic research carried out by young UniTS researchers. The initiative is available to fixed-term UniTS researchers (RTD-a and RTD-b), tenured researchers (RU) and Associate Professors (PA) and is designed to support research projects with up to €5,000.
The Planning and Recruitment Office organises the Bovec Summer School every year. University students from the Alps-Adriatic macroregion (including Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Croatia) are eligible for participation. The aim of the summer school is to promote and deepen mutual knowledge of the languages, cultures and historical, economic and social events of the populations in the neighbouring regions in the Alps-Adriatic area.
The Planning and Recruitment Office offers prospective international students assistance with their application for entry visas and residence permits, as well as with fixing the necessary appointment at the Police Headquarters.
The Development Cooperation and University Networks Office follows the entry and renewal procedures of non-EU researchers, visiting professors and scholars at risk and acts as reference with the FVG Region and the Police Headquarters for clearance requests, entry visas and residence permits. It also manages relations with local authorities in welcoming and supporting refugee students and scholars.
The Office also acts as reference for all administrative, management and financial aspects of Visiting Professorships managed by departments.
At the beginning of every year, the Doctoral Office organises the ‘PhD Welcome Day’, an event dedicated to all international students who wish to apply for a PhD admission competition, illustrating the international services and opportunities offered to PhD students.
All University offices actively cooperate with the FVG Welcome Office.
