This information is provided pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 – General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter “GDPR”) regarding the processing of personal data, with reference to submitting a request via the contact form on the Friuli Venezia Giulia Scientific and Innovation System website (hereinafter “SiS FVG”), managed by the partner Area di Ricerca Scientifica e Tecnologica di Trieste – Area Science Park (hereinafter “Area Science Park”).
- Identity and Contact Details of the Data Controller – The Data Controller is Area Science Park, with registered office in Trieste, Padriciano 99, Postcode 34149. Individuals whose personal data is being processed, as the interested parties, may contact the Data Controller by writing to the above address or by sending an email to: urp@areasciencepark.it – PEC (certified email) protocollo@pec.areasciencepark.it.
- Contact Details of the Data Protection Officer – Area Science Park has a Data Protection Officer (DPO), appointed pursuant to Article 37 of the GDPR, who can be contacted at: rpd@areasciencepark.it.
- Source of Personal Data – The personal data processed for the purposes outlined in this notice is provided directly by the interested party.
- Categories of Personal Data Processed – The personal data processed for the purposes outlined in this notice consists of common data.
- Purpose and Legal Basis for Data Processing – The personal data of the interested party is processed for the following purposes:
- Receiving and responding to requests submitted via the contact form on the SiS FVG website;
- Sending informative and promotional material or other communications from Area Science Park.
- Recipients and categories of recipients of personal data – Without prejudice to the operations of communication and dissemination of data carried out in compliance with legal obligations or by order of the authorities, the interested party’s personal data will be known by the staff of Area Science Park and by any data processors appointed by Area Science Park itself, all of whom are authorised to process data and expressly trained to do so. A detailed and constantly updated list of the data processors is available to the interested party at the Area Science Park offices.
- Transfer of Data to Non-EU Countries – If Area Science Park needs to transfer the interested party’s personal data to non-EU countries, it will do so in a way that will provide the appropriate and opportune guarantees pursuant to articles 45, 46, 47 or 49 of the GDPR.
- Data retention period
- Data processed for the purpose of receiving and responding to requests sent via the contact form on the SiS FVG website will be retained no longer than the time necessary to respond to the request received and, in any case, until the end of the calendar year in which it was collected;
- data processed for the purpose of sending informative and promotional material or other communications from Area Science Park will be retained until the withdrawal of consent by the interested party.
The legal grounds for the data processing are as follows: - the performance of a task of public interest vested in the Data Controller (art. 6(1)(e) of the GDPR);
- consent provided by the interested party (art. 6(1)(a) of the GDPR).
- Rights of the Interested Party – Interested parties have the following rights regarding their personal data:
a) Access to the personal data (art. 15 of the GDPR).
b) Amendment of the personal data (art. 16 of the GDPR).
c) Cancellation of the personal data (art. 17 of the GDPR).
d) Restriction of the data processing (art. 18 of the GDPR).
e) Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), if the data processing is based on the execution of a contract or on the consent of the interested party and is carried out using IT tools.
f) Objection to the data processing (art. 21 of the GDPR).
g) Withdrawal of consent at any time, without compromising the lawfulness of the data processing based on consent given before its withdrawal (art. 7(3) of the GDPR).
h) To lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), i.e. the Italian Data Protection Commissioner.
To exercise the rights referred to in letters a) to g), the interested party can send an email to rpd@areasciencepark.it. Area Science Park is required to respond within one month of the request, which may be extended for up to three months for particularly complex requests. Where necessary, the Data Controller will inform the third parties to whom the personal data was disclosed about the exercise of rights by the interested party, except in specific cases (e.g. when such fulfilment proves impossible or involves the use of means clearly disproportionate to the right being protected).
- Nature of the provision of the data and consequences of failure to provide it – The provision of personal data as per this notice is optional, but necessary in order to allow the receipt and response to the request sent via the contact form on the SiS FVG website, as well as the sending of informative and promotional material or other communications from Area Science Park. Failure to provide such data therefore precludes the aforementioned activities.
- Absence of an Automated Decision-Making Process – For the processing of the interested party’s data, Area Science Park does not adopt any automated decision-making processes pursuant to art. 22 of the GDPR.
